This incredible road is the main road from Yunnan to Tibet also a part of the Tea-Horse Ancient Road. Along the Tea-horse Ancient Road lived more than 20 minorities. The concentration of beautiful and mysterious natural landscapes and traditional cultures developed in various sites, including Dali Old City, Lijiang Old City, Shangri-La, Yarlung Tsangpo River Grand Canyon, and Potala Palace. The road features temples, rock paintings, post houses, ancient bridges, and plank roads. It is also home to many national minorities and their dance and folk customs.
Yunnan- Tibet highway (214 national highway) starts south of Xijinghong, Yunnan, across the original forest in the Hengduan mountains, across the Jinsha river, and climbs over the 4,300m snow mountains like Meili snow mountain and Baimang snow mountain.
