Ganden Monastery is located 60 away southeast of Lhasa on Wangpo Ri hill (4100 m), built early 15th century by Tsong Khapa, the first monastery of Gelugpa sect.
There are must-see scenic spots in the holy city (not only monasteries but some other activities like Ganden Hiking). The Lingkor or Kora – a walking circuit around the Ganden Monastery to have a bird-eye view of Kyichu Valley is very interesting.
