Kharta Valley’s views are so extraordinary that you can appreciate the highest mountain in the world – Mount Everest from its east side which provides a unique angle of view, the 4th highest mountain Lhotse, and the 5th Makalu Mountain. But it’s a shame that this region is little known by the outside world. To embark on this magical journey, you’ll touch the untouched beauty of Kharta Valley, which unveils the hidden treasures of Everest’s eastern landscapes and offers an intimate connection with nature’s grandeur.

Trekking to Kharta Valley, also known as Gama Valley, or Kangshung Face of Everest, is definitely to be a rewarding expedition of a lifetime. It’s regarded as one of the Top 10 Landscapes in the World, the Top 10 Classic Trekking Tours in the World, and the Top 10 Most Beautiful Valleys in the World by European and American Explorers in the 20th century.

Kharta Valley is a primitive region with a large area of virgin forest. You’ll find a diversity of natural sceneries from river valleys lower than 2,000 meters to mountain peaks more than 8,000 meters with lakes, forests, brushwoods, meadows, deserts, glaciers, and snow mountains. With the elevation increasing along the trekking route, you’ll experience the subtropical climate changes to plateau climate.

Carrying with you the memories of majestic peaks, untouched valleys, and the remarkable journey you’ve undertaken, the Kharta Valley trek is a 16-day odyssey that transcends ordinary travel, offering an unparalleled opportunity to delve into the heart of Tibet’s pristine wilderness, forging a profound connection with its unspoiled beauty and ancient heritage.

However, trekking to the Kangshung Face of Mount Everest is a challenging and remote adventure that requires careful preparation. We’ll help you obtain all necessary permits from the Chinese government for trekking in the Tibetan region.

You need to pack suitable clothing for various weather conditions, including layers for warmth. Bring high-quality trekking boots, waterproof clothing, and other essential gear. It involves challenging terrain and high altitudes, so good physical condition is essential. Consult with a healthcare professional before the trek, especially if you have any pre-existing health conditions.
