Ganden-Samye Trek is the most popular hiking route among hikers. It’s also a classic pilgrimage route for lamas and pilgrims who often do the kora in the rolling valley year after year to reach the first monastery built in Tibet – Samye.

The best season to do this trekking is from mid-May to mid-October. The rainy season is also the summertime from June to August, but green trees and colorful flowers can be seen.

Beyond that, you’ll camp amidst the rugged beauty of the Tibetan wilderness where herds of yaks graze peacefully, and find lakes, mountains, alpine landscapes, nomads’ tents, local villages, and sacred sites of two great monasteries – Ganden & Samye.
